The DAC relies solely on donations, ticket sales, tuitions and grants for funding; financial support from the community is vital for the DAC to continue to provide its culturally dynamic events that encompass visual and performing arts.

Over 6,000 individuals participate in programs and attend performances at the DAC annually, with over 1000 students from toddlers to seniors taking classes in dance, visual arts, music, theatre, and martial arts. DAC outreach programs include the Darien Library, Darien Nature Center, Atria, Maplewood, the Darien After Schools Program and Overtime Athletics. Over twenty students with disabilities attend Artabilities and Danceabilities classes.

The DAC is also home to its thriving community theatre group, DAC Stage, which continues to gain recognition for critically acclaimed shows including Jacques Brel is Alive and Well, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and most recently Baby, the musical.

Pic Darien, our 2nd annual smartphone photo contest,  garnered over 300 entries in early 2017, and in an unprecedented showcase of talent, twenty finalists from Darien and neighboring towns gave it their all onstage in the 2016 Darien’s Got Talent. Hundreds of local artists are showcasing their work at the 58th Darien Art Show and Sale from June 3 through June 10, and the 16th Ginny Wright Scholarship will soon be given to a Darien High School art student.
