![]() Smartphone Photo Contest We've announced 24 winners in our 4th annual Smartphone Photo Contest, Pic Darien! First Place and Runner Up cash prizes in all categories were awarded to adults and children at a reception on April 28th in the DAC Weatherstone Studio. The contest garnered over 530 entries in six categories, with submissions from all ages. So...in case you missed it, our 2019 contest was open to all, with no age restrictions and residency was not required. We received over 530 entries from as far away as Bangladesh and Scotland! Contestants were allowed to enter as many times as they wished in six categories:
Meet PIC DARIEN Judge, Jeffrey Wyant: Jeffrey Wyant is an award-winning photographer, filmmaker and TV producer. He has written and directed over 200 national TV commercials and has produced daily and weekly TV shows, as well as top-rated syndicated specials, including “Don’t Ask Me, Ask God”, a show with over 16 million viewers. Wyant’s clients have included Showtime, Hearst Communications, BET, ABC/Disney Home Entertainment, RCA Records, The Humane Society of the United States and KOCH Entertainment (now Entertainment One). His documentary coverage of Afghan refugees raised $500,000 for Doctors Without Borders and his productions have won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the New York International Film Festival, in addition to other awards. As a volunteer, Wyant has also generously photographed events for the Darien Arts Center. He will judge the Pic Darien contest blindly, without the identity of the contestants.
