It's time to polish up your act for Darien’s Got Talent, the Darien Arts Center’s popular talent competition being held on June 25, 2016. According to Amy Allen, DAC executive director, “It’s time to stop singing in the shower, dancing in your PJs, and telling jokes to your dog, and show everyone how talented you are!” Darien’s Got Talent returns, due to popular demand, for its third year with the chance for contestants to showcase their talents, shine on stage, and win cash prizes. Contestants ages 10 and over, can enter alone or as part of a group, to sing, dance, play an instrument or perform just about any other talent in the competition. Acapella groups, garage bands and dance ensembles are welcome.

Darien’s Got Talent will feature accomplished entertainment industry professionals as judges for the auditions and finals. New this year: prizes will be awarded for the top three adult and top three children winners, for a total of six prizes awarded. Prizes include: Adults 1st place $1000, 2nd place $750, and 3rd place $500, Children’s 1st Place $750, 2nd Place $500, and 3rd Place $250. Registration for auditions opens on April 11 and will remain open until May 14. Auditions take place on May 21 and 22 in the DAC Weatherstone Studio.

Returning to direct Darien’s Got Talent is long-time Darien resident, Carole Claps who has directed, produced, performed, and taught theatre throughout Fairfield County for many years. Also returning for another turn as Music Director is Chris Coogan, the multi-talented entertainer composer, performer, teacher, choir director, and producer

The DAC’s Darien’s Got Talent is a fundraising event for the nonprofit organization, which offers educational programming in dance, visual arts, theatre and music, as well as special events and live theatre productions by DAC Stage.
