We are happy to announce the addition of a new Visual Arts instructor, Emily Evans, who is teaching Cartooning for 7-12 year olds on Mondays from 4:10-5:10 p.m. from February 6 through May 22. Evans is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and draws and co-writes a monthly comic strip, Polly Tries. She has previously worked as a teaching assistant at the Bush-Holly House in Greenwich and the Silvermine Art Guild in New Canaan. In Emily's cartooning class, students will design their own characters and learn to use one-panel cartoons and three-panel comic strips. Television storyboards and caricature will be included and students will study facial expressions and body language. Emily emphasizes individual instruction and utilizes dynamic on-the-spot demonstrations in her class. Fee for the class is $280, plus an annual $35 registration fee.
