Broadway entertainer  Frank Mastrone to Perform one night of music and storytelling, November 16th, 2013 at 8pm. 

With over 20 years of professional experience performing on Broadway, Frank Mastrone brings his talents to the Darien Arts Center!  Known for his charismatic style, Mastrone weaves music and storytelling bridging his life on Broadway with his role as a family man in Connecticut. 
Mastrone has been a professional performer since graduating from Central Connecticut State College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting and directing. His first big break was joining the first national tour of Cats as "Gus: The Theatre Cat". When he returned, he was cast in the original company of The Phantom Of The Opera in which he has performed over 4,000 times over the past 25 years. He was on Broadway in Les Miserables as Jean Val Jean, in Jekyll and Hyde in the title role, in the stage version of Saturday Night Fever as Mr. Fusco, and "the paint store guy" in Big: The Musical. He has traveled the country in shows like Evita, Les Miserables, and Mamma Mia! 

Concert appearances have taken him from Carnegie Hall (Showboat and South Pacific) to Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic (Camelot with Gabriel Byrne), to London's Royal Albert Hall in Kristina, a musical written by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (from ABBA). He has also performed with the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, Laurie Beechman in NY, and at The Sands in Atlantic City. Locally, Mastrone has been at the Palace Theatre in Stamford with various artists and companies. 

Mastrone has presented Meet The Artist programs for Lincoln Center and has taught master classes and workshops for Broadway Backstage, Field Studies of NY, and currently at the Greenwich Performing Arts Studio. The Darien Arts Center is proud to have him perform in the DAC Weatherstone Studio for an intimate evening of music.
