Brought to you by DAC Stage

February 3 at 8 p.m.

An evening of laughter and silliness awaits those attending Improv Night on Saturday, February 3rd at the Darien Arts Center. The one-night event features Mario Fuentes, Kevin Rishel and the Tri-State Players, a dynamic group borne out of The Yes Show, a Manhattan studio specializing in short-form improv workshops and shows.

It was at The Yes Show that leaders of the group, Mario Fuentes and Kevin Rishel, first met and collaborated. The two were attending a 10-week course taught by professional actor and founder Ralph Buckley. Mario and Kevin have been performing improv for the last 14 years with The Yes Show and their own company, Two Man Shoe. They now bring to the DAC the Tri-State Players, a group of talented Yes Show improvisers, varying in ages 30 and up, providing a dynamic range of experience including a
professional speaker, screenwriter/director, interior designer and a former WPLJ drive time radio personality.

Improv Night, produced by DAC Stage, will consist of short form improv, similar to that of Chicago City Limits. All scenes are based on suggestions from the audience. Three pre-selected judges will judge on entertainment, skill, and narrative and one winning team will be chosen. A question and answer session will follow the show. In addition to Kevin and Mario, the Tri-State Players include David Baugnon, Helen Berman, Jim Brownold, Paul Dagliolo, Toby Gips, Julia Kogan, Jeanne Stafford and Ed Walsh.

Improv Night takes place in the DAC Weatherstone Studio, which is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind Darien Town Hall.
