THE DARIEN ARTS CENTER – GINNY WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP
2019 APPLICATION

The Darien Arts Center awards this $1500 scholarship to a DHS senior who will continue their study of the visual arts or design in college. It is not necessary that the student be declaring art as a major at this point, as long as he or she plans to take art courses. The award is given in memory of Virginia Wright, a talented artist, dedicated volunteer and generous benefactor.

A certificate will be presented at the DHS evening award ceremony on Thursday, May 23, 2019 and a check will be presented at the Pic Darien Smartphone Photo Contest reception on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

The following requirements must be met to complete the application process:
1) Completion of the application (link below), is due by Friday, March 15, with portfolio.
2) Applicants’ portfolio must be dropped off in DHS Art Room F101 by March 15 and available to Darien Arts Center judges. Artwork will be returned to school by March 29 at the latest, unless otherwise arranged with artist.
3) An Artists’ Statement must accompany application. See the application for further details.
4) A letter of support submitted by a member of the DHS visual arts faculty or another art school due Friday, March 15, by email to: Emily@darienarts.org or by mail to: DAC/Scholarship 2 Renshaw Rd., Darien, CT 06820.
