The Darien Arts Center (DAC) invites young artists to get creative this February with its Winter Break Art Camp, taking place February 16–19 from 10:00–11:30 am. Open to students in grades K–3, this four-day camp offers a fun and engaging way for children to explore the visual arts while school is out for winter break.
Throughout the week, students will experiment with a wide range of materials and techniques, including painting, collage, clay, and mixed media projects. Each session is designed to spark imagination, encourage self-expression, and help young artists build confidence in their creative abilities—all within a supportive and playful studio environment.
The camp will be led by DAC Visual Arts Instructor Sue Trager, who will guide students through hands-on projects that emphasize creativity, curiosity, and artistic exploration. With plenty of opportunities to experiment and get messy, participants are encouraged to dress for mess as they dive into an inspiring week of art-making.
“This Winter Break Art Camp is all about giving young artists the freedom to explore materials, try new ideas, and express themselves creatively,” said Lisa Koorbusch, Visual Arts Director at the Darien Arts Center. “We love offering programs that combine structure with imagination, and February Break is the perfect time for kids to engage in meaningful, hands-on art experiences outside the classroom.”
The Winter Break Art Camp is ideal for families seeking a creative and enriching option during February Break. Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended. Click HERE to register.
