The Darien Arts Center is pleased to announce the launch of a new adult class series, Transparent Watercolor Flowers, beginning Thursday, April 30th and running through June 4th, 2026. The class meets every Thursday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the DAC Visual Arts Studio and is open to adults of all skill levels.
Led by accomplished artist and instructor Kathie Milligan, the class guides students through simple, approachable techniques for painting luminous, delicate floral watercolors full of life and light. Whether participants are picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to expand their existing skills, the class offers a welcoming and inspiring environment for creative exploration. Students will leave each session with beautiful, glowing floral paintings they will be proud to share.
Kathie Milligan brings a wealth of artistic experience and education to the DAC Visual Arts Studio. She holds an MFA in painting from the New York Studio School in Manhattan and a bachelor's degree in studio art from Skidmore College. A multi-media artist concentrating on drawing and painting, Milligan has lived and shown her work both in the United States and internationally, including in London. She currently divides her time between teaching and landscape painting.
The fee for the full six-week series is $250. Enrollment is limited, and early registration is encouraged. To register, click HERE or call (203) 655-8683.
