The Darien Arts Center (DAC) has opened registration for its Winter/Spring 2025 semester, offering a vibrant lineup of classes in dance, acting, visual arts, music, and acting for students of all ages. This season features new workshops, returning favorites, and expanded on-camera acting opportunities for young performers.

The Visual Arts Department launches Workshop Wednesdays, a new series of Youth/Adult workshops designed to bring families together through hands-on creativity. The first session, Gel Plate Printing on January 21 for grades 4–7, introduces students to layered prints using acrylics and gel plates—an easy, fun process perfect for beginners.

Adult artists can explore drawing, watercolor, or mixed media through classes such as Beginner & Intermediate Drawing, How to Paint with Watercolor, and Joys of Drawing & Painting. Each course offers a supportive studio environment where students can build skills, confidence, and artistic expression.

The DAC’s dance program continues to grow, offering students a place to build technique, confidence, and artistic expression in a supportive environment. Students can join Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, or Broadway Theater Jazz—classes designed to build technique, musicality, and performance skills while encouraging creativity and confidence.

The DAC is also expanding its acting offerings this season. The On Camera / Micro-Short Film Class for Young Actors gives students in grades 3–12 the opportunity to develop on-camera and audition skills while working with instructor Brian J. Carter. Actors explore authenticity, spontaneity, and scene work, and each group films a micro-short with a professional crew during the final weeks of the session.

For adults, the Connecticut Professional Acting Class provides training in emotional connection, scene study, audition technique, and industry insight. The course helps performers strengthen their craft and deepen their understanding of the business side of acting.
