The Samples DAC Concert Fundraiser at Wall Street Theatre

The Samples are bringing their blend of reggae-influenced rock to the historic Wall Street Theater on March 25 to benefit the Darien Arts Center. A band formed in Colorado in 1987, The Samples has shared the stage with big names such as The Allman Brothers Band, Blues Traveler, and Phish. Local favorite, Waller, opens the show at 8 p.m. General admission and limited special event tickets that include VIP seating and drinks are available at darienarts.org. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 18 and older event at the Wall Street Theatre, located at 71 Wall Street in Norwalk. Pictured: The Samples in concert.

Darien Arts Center Accepting Applications for Art Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Ginny Wright Scholarship. The Darien Arts Center awards this $2,000 scholarship to a high school senior in Darien who will continue their study of the visual arts or design in college.

Eight Locals to Judge DAC Smartphone Photo Contest, Pic Darien 2022

Eight local judges will select winners in the Darien Arts Center’s 2022 Smartphone Photo Contest, Pic Darien, which is open for submissions at darienarts.org through March 18th. Ben Larrabee, Terrie Wood, Jeffrey Wyant, Tom and Anne Geary, Megan Dey, David Wagner, Kris Barker and Peter Saverine will judge photo entries from both adults and children in the following categories: Landscapes, Seascapes, Nature and Floral, Food and Drink, Abstract and Architecture, Pets, Travel and Family and Friends. The contest is open to all; there are no age restrictions and contestants are not required to live in Darien.

Darien Arts Center and JIB Productions Present Love Notes, a Performance by Play With Your Food

The Darien Arts Center in collaboration with JIB Productions, is delighted to announce a special performance of hilarious and heartwarming play readings celebrating Valentine’s Day and presented by Play With Your Food. Love Notes, an hour-long performance takes place on February 12th at 7pm in the DAC Weatherstone Studio.

Pic Darien 2022 Returns for Its Seventh Year

Our popular smartphone photo contest, Pic Darien, is open for entries until March 18th at darienarts.org. The contest is open to all; there are no age restrictions and contestants are not required to live in Darien. As in previous years, the contest will be judged blindly, without the judges knowing the identity of the contestants, and photos do not need to be taken in Darien.

Darien Arts Center Charms All Ages with ‘Scenes from the Nutcracker’

Scenes from the Nutcracker, a show performed by the Darien Art Center’s dance companies and geared for younger audiences is taking place at the DAC Weatherstone Studio at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Darien Town Hall. Performances take place on December 11, 12, 18 and 19 at noon and 3 p.m.
