The Board of Directors of the Darien Arts Center is pleased to announce the selection of the Arts Center’s new Executive Director, George Colabella. George will assume the overall execution of the mission of the DAC as well as strategic, developmental and operational responsibilities for the town’s only arts non-profit.
The Darien Arts Center has announced the addition of professional dancer Claire St. John and international freelance artist and co-director of East Coast Contemporary Ballet, Alejandro Ulloa as part of an expansion to their dance program, which will take place in the newly renovated DAC Weatherstone Studio this fall.

The Darien Arts Center is proud to sponsor BubbleMania!, bursting onto the stage in Darien with Casey Carle and his amazing one-man show on Sunday, April 3 at 4 p.m. The popular mesmerizing performance takes place at the performing arts venue at 65 Tokeneke Road in Darien.
So We Think We Can Dance returns for its 11th year at the Darien Arts Center on Saturday, March 5th at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 6 at 2 p.m.
The Samples are bringing their blend of reggae-influenced rock to the historic Wall Street Theater on March 25 to benefit the Darien Arts Center. A band formed in Colorado in 1987, The Samples has shared the stage with big names such as The Allman Brothers Band, Blues Traveler, and Phish. Local favorite, Waller, opens the show at 8 p.m. General admission and limited special event tickets that include VIP seating and drinks are available at darienarts.org. Applications are now being accepted for the Ginny Wright Scholarship. The Darien Arts Center awards this $2,000 scholarship to a high school senior in Darien who will continue their study of the visual arts or design in college.
Eight local judges will select winners in the Darien Arts Center’s 2022 Smartphone Photo Contest, Pic Darien, which is open for submissions at darienarts.org through March 18th. Ben Larrabee, Terrie Wood, Jeffrey Wyant, Tom and Anne Geary, Megan Dey, David Wagner, Kris Barker and Peter Saverine will judge photo entries from both adults and children in the following categories: Landscapes, Seascapes, Nature and Floral, Food and Drink, Abstract and Architecture, Pets, Travel and Family and Friends. The contest is open to all; there are no age restrictions and contestants are not required to live in Darien.
The Darien Arts Center in collaboration with JIB Productions, is delighted to announce a special performance of hilarious and heartwarming play readings celebrating Valentine’s Day and presented by Play With Your Food. Love Notes, an hour-long performance takes place on February 12th at 7pm in the DAC Weatherstone Studio.
