Join the Legacy Circle!
The Legacy Circle recognizes members and friends who demonstrate their deep commitment to the Darien Arts Center by including the DAC in their estate plans. Through their foresight and generosity, these individuals play a key role in establishing a sound foundation for the DAC and ensure its growth and success in the future. There are no dues or fees associated with membership in the Legacy Circle. Members receive exclusive invitations to DAC programs and events and are acknowledged, with their permission.
The following are examples of ways you may make a charitable donation through planned giving and become a member of the Legacy Circle:
Bequests
Bequests (outright, residuary, and contingent) are the most popular type of planned gift. Whether you wish to provide general operating income or support a specific department or program, your bequest expresses your lasting commitment to the DAC. A bequest to the DAC may also help you meet your financial and estate-planning goals, as your charitable bequest is 100% tax-deductible.
Life Insurance Plans
You may name the DAC as a beneficiary of all or part of a new or existing life insurance policy. Depending on the type of policy donated, you may receive an immediate income tax deduction and be able to deduct any future premium payments on the policy.
Retirement Plans
Assets in qualified retirement plans (IRA, Keogh, SEP, 401(k), 403(b), and ESOP) may represent a large portion of your total assets and be an important factor in planning testamentary gifts. When they go to individuals, they are subject to income tax. In contrast, as a tax exempt charitable organization, the DAC will receive 100% of each retirement dollar you give. Please think about designating the DAC as the beneficiary of all or part of your retirement plan assets and set aside other assets for family and friends.
We hope that you will join the Legacy Circle and help build the financial foundation of the Darien Arts Center for many generations to come.
