The Darien Arts Center awards this $2,000 scholarship to a DHS senior who will continue their study of the visual arts or design in college. It is not necessary that the student declare art as a major at this point, as long as he or she plans to take art courses. The award is given in memory of Virginia Wright, a talented artist, dedicated volunteer and generous benefactor of the Darien Arts Center.

With her boundless energy, knowledge and passion, Carole Claps was an integral part of the success of the Darien Arts Center for over thirty years. She served on the Board for many years and as VP, Carole contributed her PR expertise to support all the arts programs at the DAC.
Critically Acclaimed New York City Dance Company Performs in Darien
The Darien Arts Center is offering a variety of new visual arts classes and workshops for all ages that include a 2D Animation Workshop for Grades 5-8 and a Watercolor class for adults.
